I chose an avatar that best resembled me (at least from my perspective). Most of the avatars were white males, and the women that were optional did not really look like they were from the same era that the males were portrayed as from. The women were also a lot more revealing than the men and looked pretty with their hair tied up and jewelry (necklaces and earrings). There were also very few people of color as options for an avatar, I only saw about ten people of color out of the 4 pages that were given and they were all on the last page.
The game menu GUI is a little bit challenging to understand without the “Story” guide. Since I don’t have any experience with these online games, I was kind of just clicking on all of the icons at first before I asked a housemate if he knew how to navigate the main page. He then showed me how to just follow the story and it would tell me exactly what to do. Once I started following the story, all of the other icons were simple to understand. The game also became more interesting once I knew what to do, but without simple instruction from an experienced user, I would not have known what to do and I would have continued just clicking on every icon until it did something.
